The first episode fooled me for a while, although something definitely seemed very wrong about J'aimee, probably the stubble being a bit telling. I think it's trying to be another "The Office", but it doesn't quite have enough interesting secondary characters for that.

BBC3 helpfully screened all 8 episodes of Summer Heights High last Saturday, which gave me the ideal chance to catch up. I have to say I'm really impressed with the whole thing - although the humour is unremittingly cruel! Jonah, the potty-mouthed breakdancing fanatic, is my favourite character. Such a brilliant, and believable portrayal. Chris Lilley is a fantastic talent, and he thoroughly deserves all the kudos he's getting for this programme.

Apparently BBC3 have been trying to secure the rights to show his previous series, We Can Be Heroes, in this country. I'm keeping me fingers crossed this comes to pass.

I'm half way through watching Brideshead Revisited. Someone lent me the book and the tv series at the same time. It's brilliant so far! Quite faithful to the book as well.

I found the entire series of "We Can Be Heroes" on Graboid, at good quality, and quite low download size :)

Last night Greys Anatomy series 4 .So glad to have it back. It's a shame Isaiah Washington (Burke) was fired from the show. I loved his character. :(

Tonight Wire In The Blood. A vast improvement on the last one I'm pleased to say.
I'm not David Mitchell's Mom. I'd just like to adopt him. Nooo not David Mitchell the comedian. Little David Mitchell from Grange Hill Series Three!

Sutti and me enjoyed Maestro, the recent celebrity conducting series on BBC Two. (apart from the bits with Bradley Walsh in, obviously.) It was good to see that nice Sue Perkins emerge triumphant too.

The actor is a bit of a git though!

Yes, I enjoyed Maestro very much. I've also been enjoying the Paralympics a lot.

Just started to watch "Bring Back Star Wars". Should be good. He's already met Carrie Fisher, but I'm scared in case the stars shun what is a masterpiece of cinema with their attitude towards what made them so famous. Fingers crossed.

It was good of Chewbacca to present it, oh no wait, that was Justin Lee Collins.

I didn't think I could like a show where everyone was made of lego but it's genius.

New series of the great series Outnumbered starts Saturday. Also we've a new series of Lead Ballo(o)n which just started - love the dry humour - and Magda.

I also don't miss the Real Hustle on Thurs - but I fast forward to just after the spoilers.

Oh and the Sarah Jane adventures are worth a look.

Enjoying the new series of Outnumbered, didn't watch series 1 so planning on buying the dvd soon.
Looking forward to 'Survivors' starting on Sunday. :D
Heard a lot about the original series which I did try to get the dvd of but so far not been able to purchase it at a 'reasonable price'.
Anyway looking forward to this remake on Sunday.

If we are to believe the Radio Times' numbering, it's a six part series, quite a contrast to the long run of the old series. The original one is worth seeing - it seemed to break established rules of series in that you never knew from one week to the next who would survive out of who you assumed were main characters.

That's one of the things that made the original Survivors great for me - its unremitting bleakness. Not seen the (ahem) "re-imagining" yet but they'll be hard pressed to match it. The cast are all far too young and sexy, for starters. Why (oh why oh why) do TV companies nowadays seem to cast their shows with the same sodding actors time and time again? Not that they're bad actors by any means - it's just there must be hundreds of thesps out there who could do just as good a job, but never seem to be given the chance.

It would make the end-of-the-world-as-we-knew-it drama feel more realistic too, if you weren't going "Oh look, there's Martha and Rose's dad from Doctor Who!" or "Johnson from Peep Show!" every five minutes too and were instead looking at a bunch of people you hadn't seen time and time again on the telly before.
