Me again!

This evening I put an empty mug down on my bookcase and promptly knocked it off. Fortunately it didn't break because it landed in my full waste paper bin. Unfortunately the falling mug unbalanced the bin, catapulting the entire contents all over my floor.

For once, I can actually top you for an act of clumsiness! On Monday I had exactly the same accident as the one outlined above except that: a) my mug landed on a pile of old videos when it fell and b) it was still full of tea at the time (at least it was when it started its descent!).

It's my habit to have an old Philips cassette recorder in the loo so I can listen to audio books in the bath. Unfortunately, the vets audio book "The Lord God Made Them All" fell in the loo when I was putting it back in its case. I washed it out, and dried it. Then when I was putting the second tape in the box downstairs (an awkward box), it fell into a full bucket of water... so it obviously had kamikaze urges.

I think I could give Sutti a run for her money on clumsiness the past couple of days....
I'm a bit of a minor disaster zone at the moment :(

Yesterday I scraped the side of my car on a low wall...the worst part about this is the fact that it was my wall, at the edge of my own driveway, at the front of my own house where I have lived for 11 years...ie. I should really know there's a wall there by now...oh and did I mention it's not the first time I've done it? :(
(I haven't had a lot of luck with cars and driving for the last few months really what with writing off my previous car, gaining another speeding fine and now this...I guess it's hardly surprising really that my insurance renewal quote was double what it was last year... )
Then I came in and made tea, and whilst draining potatoes I poured boiling water all over my hand...and today whilst making tea, I dropped all my spaghetti down the gap between my cooker and the kitchen cupboard next to it...
(maybe I should stay away from cars and kitchens... )

I'm sure I've done something else too but I can't think of it right now :?

I was showing one of my friends a TV which had all the features I required, I turned it around to check if it did indeed have a 2 x scart at the back (it had the red/yellow/white socket thingies on the side and an earphone socket, so, I needed to see the scart sockets) and the shelf it was on fell down

I saved the TV I was looking at but the kiddies pink TV next to it fell to the ground and bounced on the floor.

My friend and I were in shock at first and she did the very guilty look she does in such situations. I was trying my best not to laugh, 'tis an afflition I suffer from when something bad happens. :?

An assistant came to our rescue and fixed the shelf while I held the TV, then, placed the fallen TV back on the shelf.

I didn't buy a TV on this occation :?

I knocked a glass of water over on my bedside table when I woke up yesterday. I also soaked the bathroom floor when inadvertently leaving the shower nozzle pointing in the wrong direction after I switched it on. All this water-based fun would be bad enough if it wasn't for the fact I have damp coming up through the floor in the bedroom anyway, which requires a dehumidifier to get rid of. I've also just been informed (by the building contractors who've just dropped said dehumidifier round) that I have leaks in my bathroom, kitchen sink and possibly in the bathroom ceiling (coming from upstairs) which need sorting out. Not bad for a flat that's barely two years old!

Thankfully the building's management company are falling over themselves to apologise and I'll be getting all these repairs done gratis. They're even paying for a new carpet for the bedroom. (Me, I'll just be glad to get rid of the musty smell!)

I obviously got a bit over-excited watching Rocky Horror last night (over-excited in a "I used to love this film and haven't seen it for ages" kind of way.... ) and managed to knock over a full glass of pomegranate and raspberry juice all over the coffee table, the DVD box and the floor
(I'd borrowed the DVD off someone and will be returning it tonight....do you think they'll notice that the cardboard DVD box and booklet is a bit soggy and curled at the edges now? )

I've just poppped in to point and laugh at all you clumsy chimps! I haven't done anything for ages which merited being put in this thread, you see. I even managed to pick up the broken glass from my shed window (the door blew open and smashed it in high winds) without a single cut - miraculous!

I managed to fuse all the lights in my hotel room while I was away for a few days this past week

One of the many lights in the room was missing a bulb...we had mentioned it but nothing was done about it (and this was a well-known hotel chain  )
Anyway, how hard can it be to change a lightbulb thinks me
So I attempted to take a bulb from another light and move it to the one we really needed...so I unscrewed the bulb...except that I unscrewed the whole light fitting and pulled it out by the wires...oops!
For some reason, none of the lights would work after that and I had to admit to the bloke on reception what I'd done so he could sort it out for me.....
A lesson to be learnt here...never mix Maria with electricity

This is more of a random act of stupidity. In Asda's, last week, I needed a trolley, and they normally require a quid coin to be inserted. There were none at the trolley nest, but I saw a guy pushing a stack of them back towards home. He used a little gizmo and removed one from the stack for me, so I proffered a pound. He looked puzzled, but confused, I put the coin in his palm. Later I realised what I'd done - he'd assumed I was tipping him, and of course I was a pound down...

Time to fess up.

Well, I was doing a bit of weeding in my front garden a few weeks back. I put my foot on what I thought was the first step of the steps leading up to the drive (I didn't look down) only to find a certain irresponsible person :x had placed a broken plastic storage box at the foot of the steps.

I fell forward as the darn box gave way but stopped myself from falling flat on my face with my hand. I gave my wrist, arm, shoulder and neck a jolt. :(

If that wasn't bad enough, I then fell again while trying to pull myself up and fell though the box cutting my hands, arms and legs from ankles to thighs, and, dislocated a bone in my hand (which actually pops out for any occation ).

Luckily, the jolt didn't snap any of the nerves, as happened with the serious accident I had a few years back, but has done some soft tissue damage and caused inflamation resulting in a set back in my general recovery.

Back to numb hands, pain and mind numbing drugs :(

Just when I was starting to feel almost normal again :(

To top it all I have a cold now too. Every sneeze and cough is agony. but I'm still smiling :D

Cripes, I never knew weeding could be so hazardous!

No, as Maria says, that's rotten luck - as is copping a cold on top of it all! Talk about unfair  Feel better soon ma'am!
