The Shop Around The Corner. Forget It's A Wonderful Life (which I do like a lot as well, by the way), this is James Stewart's best Christmas picture! A romantic comedy that was the inspiration for You've Got Mail probably doesn't sound like the greatest thing ever, but The Shop Around The Corner really is a joy from start to finish, and I never ever tire of it. 10 out of 10!

Last films I've seen:

The Holiday - saw it last year when it came out too...romantic Christmassy happy-ending slush...I'm such a girl...I love it

Firecracker - quite good, but weird and confusing and not a nice story..no happy ending here..thanks Avid

Village of the Damned - fell asleep twice whilst attempting to watch it, but quite unintentionally funny

The Lives of Others - German subtitled film based in Berlin before the wall came down...enjoyed it

I've been meaning to watch that for ages. Did you know that the actor who played the lead role, the secret police bloke, died of cancer in July this year, by the way? :(

What, like The Christmas Shoes?

Last film I saw was The Canterville Ghost - a 1986 HTV TV-made production of the Oscar Wilde classic starring a wonderfully hammy John Gielgud and a young Alyssa Milano. Enjoyable stuff!

I watched The Da Vinci Code Thursday night/Friday morning. I'm a bit behind in film watching :?

I really liked it! Although the 'twists' were a bit obvious I thought.
I'm not David Mitchell's Mom. I'd just like to adopt him. Nooo not David Mitchell the comedian. Little David Mitchell from Grange Hill Series Three!

The last film I watched was The Muppet Christmas Carol - always gets me in a Christmassy mood!

I watched Rocky & Bullwinkle and Finding Nemo in the past week. Finding Nemo is superb (Dory is a brilliant comedy character) and Rocky & Bullwinkle is ludicrous and I can't help loving it! Stupid puns and lots of silliness - sounds a bit like Square Eyes, really!

Bee Movie. It was pretty good, with a lot of visual humour (which I like), and I wouldn't mind seeing it again. My sister and I were the only ones who actually seemed to laugh at anything, though, except for at the end when everyone else in the cinema cracked up at some lawyer joke. :sus:

Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix (not as spectacular as in the cinema but some lovely characters in this film) and Shrek the Third (much funnier than I thought it would be).

Now I'm trying to decide whether to watch Singin' In The Rain or Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit. *sigh* My life is so hard! :P

The day after new year's day I watched Accidental Hero, which coincidentally begins with people singing Auld Lang Syne. I love this film - it's one of those which I can watch any time.

Last night I watched Crackerjack, an Aussie comedy about lawn bowls. Doesn't sound promising does it? But it was pretty good!

I still have that to watch - that's an encouraging review!

The other night I watched The Hunger. Pretentious twaddle! It's terribly 80s - all billowing net curtains, arty lighting, roller discos and polaroid cameras - so I'm guessing it hasn't aged well, but it's like they've forgotten to tell you half the story. It's like when your mate tries to relate the plot of a film to you and keeps saying things like, "Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that the guy had no arms and an evil twin who killed his parents 10 years ago".
The acting wasn't bad but it was so damn dull! I won't be watching that one again.

I'm currently in the middle of The Motorcycle Diaries which is really enjoyable so far.
