Evening all. The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that we've implemented a new forum rank system tonight, based on the post total each user has currently achieved - these post ranks can be seen directly underneath your username in any given topic you've posted in. For example, I'm currently Mental As Anything (as is my forum rank. boom! boom!).

I won't give away all the diifferent ranks here, but you'll notice they're all on a theme. Here are the post totals at which all the various ranks become active anyway: 1, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, 1000, 2000)

We're also planning to add a star system to accompany each rank, so watch this space!

I love it

I don't even notice my post score, never really saw the point of it, but that's really fun.

Stars are up now too.

I suspect that's why I was cut off mid-look through the threads earlier

Ooh, sorry Mrs M!

(Although the people that host us did do their own updating at around 10pm as well, which kicked us all off for a while!)

Actually, I think I will outline the ranks here, just so everyone knows what's up for grabs!

Total posts/ Rank name (#of accompanying stars)

1-24 New Kid on the Block (0)

25-49 Musical Youth (1)

50-99 Arrested Development (2)

100-249 Mental As Anything (3)

250-499 The Real Thing (4)

500-749 Five Star (5)

750-999 Dr Feelgood (6)

1000-1999 The Specials (6)

2000+ Grandmaster Flash (6)

Cool
Ok, I'm guessing then that I'll be a 'New kid on the block' still.
(I actually used to own their album too ).

Stars and ranks! My word it's all go here isn't it.
I rather like the idea of the various pop groups, though I fear it will be a while before we get onto the works of Gilbert & Sullivan... 1,000,000 posts plus, eh?

Bearing in mind we've already got a few fans of their work on here, it might not be such a bad idea to co-opt something G&S-related into the ranks system! Any suggestions gratefully received

I've just noticed I'm Mental As Anything. There are a few people who'd agree with that too!

I like the idea of a G&S ranks. Maybe we could have a 'Yeoman of the Guard' rank. Sounds quite funky too I think

I quite like the fact I'm a Musical Youth. I bought their singles too. And yes I also confess to once having owned a 'New Kids on the block' cd too!!!

Should you wish to incorporate a ‘G&S’ system, I’ve posted a new thread detailing all of their comic operas, with initial performance runs . Hope that helps!

I think this whole relocation thing is a conspiracy against me. I had only just thrown off my new kid on the block status now it's back to Square one! Or should that be Square Eyes one! Or should that be Square Eyes Two?

 Oh alright then, I admit it - it was all a conspiracy to rob you of your hard-earned New Kid status!

But just think of the long view, Double S - all that frustrating time we used to lose when the old place used to be down for "server maintenance" is a thing of the past now, and you can look forward to getting twice as many posts made now that we've actually got a fully-functioning, not-packing-up-every-five-minutes forum! You'll be a Musical Youth again before you know it!

I thought I may as well take the oportunity to do a clean sweep of having my name as the last poster for each forum. :D

I've blown that screen wide open now, with a couple of well thought, and lengthy posts.

Ahhh! But I still have a pictoral record of my enviable feat to be kept on record for all eternity *manic laugh* (or until Square Eyes disapears without a trace Just like I thought it had last night :? )

Aarghh, what have they done to my board? My lovely board!! :o

Actually I think I might even prefer this design to the old one. The first I knew about it was when they emailed me to tell me that it had had an upgrade BTW.

It's quite good. I wish my football team would upgrade from their current one (which was like our old one here) to what we have on here now. It looks so boring.
