Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle

Postby Hughesy on Sun Mar 22, 2009 11:05 am

Something odd struck me while watching this (not literally - that would be Partridge-esque). I was witnessing intelligent comedy - on TV! Imagine that! So as soon as the BBC hurry up and cancel this wishy-washy Guardian-reading drivel masquerading as entertainment and give us more quality stuff along the lines of Horden & Corden and Tittybangbang the better!

Only joking, obviously. Stewart Lee's comedy Vehicle is superb; a real breath of fresh air. Apparently he's doing television (ie talking about it as well as being on it) on this week's show. Should be good!

I enjoyed the first episode of this too! It's nice to see Stewart Lee back on telly again. He scares me slightly but makes me laugh too, so that's alright then :P

Yes I eagerly await episode two later tonight. Highlights of week one were the Asher D gag with the sausage and ripping in to Moyles who always deserves it! The stuff on the red button after the show last week was good too. Nice to see Stewart Lee back on tv. Its been too long. A lot of his funny stand up is on youtube.

The red button stuff was actually better than the show itself this week, for me, the last ten minutes or so of which I found a bit tedious. The stuff about the mallards was good, though, and I was glad to see someone finally stick the knife into Ant & Dec (so to speak).

It really went off the boil with all that interminable ranting about the actually very funny Only Fools & Horses clip that the general public (apparently) always vote their favourite comedy moment. Of all the drivel on TV he could have directed his ire at and castigated people for liking, he chose that? Bah!
