I'm sorry to be the bearer of sad tidings, but Simon from Grange Hill Online has died. His mother broke the news on the forum today. I don't know of any further details than this, the news has saddened me deeply.

Thank you very much Geffers for informing people of the sad news about Simon's passing  I can only add the same as you - the news has deeply saddened me as well, let alone it coming as a very massive shock to me too. I'm sure Simon's legacy will live on and he will never never be forgotten ever.

Just heard myself, what a shock. Simon became a great online friend over the years, i was happy to chat openly and share with him Grange Hill info and pics trusting him deeply. What a loss to the Grange Hill online world and the world itself.

As for everyone else, this news came as a shock and it's very sad.
It seems so unfair when someone goes "before their time".
If it wasn't for Simon and GHO, most of us wouldn't have got to know each other and wouldn't be members of this forum now. He put a lot of work into the site and brought GH fans together.
I see there are a number of nice tributes to him on GHO and I hope that will help his Mum and other family and friends at a difficult time.

That's terribly sad for his family and all his friends. Far too young to go. He has brought a lot of people together over the years.

That's so sad.

I loved his contribution to TV Ark as well as GHO. He was so knowlegeable about TV.

What a great loss. :(
I'm not David Mitchell's Mom. I'd just like to adopt him. Nooo not David Mitchell the comedian. Little David Mitchell from Grange Hill Series Three!
