Sadly I've had to buy the first volume on DVD because I watched the first four episodes (on the two tapes) and they were knackered. So I'll have to watch all 16 and then pursuade Mrs. Head that I need volumes 2-40 as well

Found out today that Prisoner is being released in the UK. They will be different from the Aussie release. For starters the first volume will be episodes 1-32. These were in two volumes down under. You can pre-order them from HMV for around £25 and they're out at the end of October.

Ah, excellent. Might just have to fork out for some of those; they sound like good value. Cheers for the info, Head. Your blood's worth bottling - fair dinkum!

Strewth, I forgot to mention it's kind of a Grange Hill deal. A few edits from the Aussie releases and the first volume will be a taster to see how well sales are.

No worries! The show seems to have a bigger cult fanbase than GH so fingers crossed the DVD sales should keep ticking over nicely. (that's always assuming PCBH fans haven't already bought all the DVDs from the Australian release  )

Well I have the Aussie releases for volumes 1 and 2, but no more. They're rather good except I now hate the theme music, which appears on every menu screen and selection panel

Judging by the content listing on the prisoner website it seems as though its just the covers that had been changed and none of the content. I guess that means I can wait for the second box set instead of re-buying the first two in one.

They're out 10th November I think.
