I don't know if I can beat it, but I can certainly run it close

War is stupid
and people are stupid
And love means nothing
In some strange quarters

It was only upon hearing those heartfelt lyrics that Russia and the USA realised the futility of their actions and decided to end the Cold war for good. And there's never been any war or conflict anywhere since. How Boy George missed out on the 1984 Nobel Peace Prize for that I'll never know!

Personally, I love the following lyrics because I'm never averse to jokes in songs, but I think a lot of people would consider them pretty bad!

from When He's By My Side by Trixie's Big Red Motorbike

#Armies, they may quarrel when they get the heebie jeebies,
The only armies I've got are kept up my sleevies#

I love Wham! Who desn't, eh ?

Apart from the obvious downside that they gave us George Michael's solo, Wham! themselves were almost unilaterally completely and utterly totally fabulous.

However :

Where did your heart go ?
Did you put it on a train ?
Did you leave it in the rain ?
Or down in Mexico ?

Is without doubt one of the laziest choruses I have ever come across.

It's a disgrace I tell you.
