MUSICAL CRIMINALS

Postby savage sounds on Thu Sep 18, 2008 11:19 pm

Evenin all! PC SAV ere on the case! I've got this lot bang to rights and might have to take em down to the station for a bit of questioning! That toe rag Noel Gallagher from the Oasis has got a bit of form, he only went and borrowed an idea used by his fellow rock and roller John Lennon, called nicking! But they're all it in the music game, alf inching tunes and rifts left right and centre and whatsmore its not just their fellow muso mates they are nicking from, they are delving in to classic theme tunes for their ideas too! The swines! Keep em peeled for this first list of suspects:

Exhibit one: Now everybody knows that the streets of Coventry contain their fair share of wrong uns and this lot are no different. They might live and die in these towns but they are prime suspects for murdering the Jam in this effort (towards the end they try and hide but its obvious they are Going Underground). However, the boys in forensics have uncovered a far more serious crime between 0.14 seconds and 0.17 seconds on the following cctv footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6tCaEYnDfs Which B is going to need more than a P when he realises they have nicked his theme tune? We'll gladly do a bit of Blockbusting down in the cells if his Holness decides to press charges: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49OkMKxQRTw (0-4 seconds, mlord).

Exhibit two: This thoroughly modern miss or should that be Ms, thought she could teach Tony Blair a thing or two about how things were on "the streets" and she probably aint wrong there, not only did she assault one of my fellow rozzers, she also did serious damage to the public's ears with her criminal records: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yADL26vNtzQ If you study the footage between 0.41 and 0.49 seconds you will notice that it aint so much a case of nice to see you, to see you nice as she tries to make a Take Over Bid for a certain light entertainer's theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThMIAHxdawI

Don't have nightmares!

It's taken me nearly a year to spot this thread.

These days it's difficult to spot musical criminals because quite a number of 'hits' include old tunes/songs sampled or are just the old hits sang badly by a younger bunch of people.

I'm going to admit though, I have the 7 inch single of the Toto Coelo song. I loved it! I was young and impresionable, loved big hair and bin bags and red lipstick and high heels....ahhhh ...those were the days
I'm not David Mitchell's Mom. I'd just like to adopt him. Nooo not David Mitchell the comedian. Little David Mitchell from Grange Hill Series Three!

I think I've got the Toto Coelo single lurking somewhere in my collection too. Or at least I did have. (I didn't buy it until the late nineties though, or thereabouts, from a charity shop.)
