In the interests of reviving this thread, I happen to know what the answer is, so in the absence of GHG, can I give a clue?

Okay then, I will

This is the clue I was given which didn't help me at all, mainly because I don't think I've seen the film...but I'm sure most of the rest of the world has...

"I was a German who fell from a Japanese building from an American watch"

There you go...hope Ghosty doesn't mind me doing that!

PS When I received that clue, I wasn't cheating! I wouldn't have posted the answer and claimed my turn...honest! Anyway, I still didn't know the answer and had to be told

I think the clue I gave you was "I was a German who fell from a Japanese building from an American's watch". I doubt the Rolex is an American made watch...

The answer (I hope you weren't all holding your breaths for it by the way! :P ) was that I was the ghost of Hans Gruber: bad guy extraordinaire of the original Die Hard movie. I know the whole watch thing doesn't immediately spring to mind when you think of Grubers final moments, but it is what happened. When McClane shoots Hans at the end of the film and he falls out through the window, he takes Holly out along with him. As he dangles from thirty floors up, he is holding onto her watch - the one she received from the Nakawhatsit Corporation as a present ("it's a Rolex", boasts ill-fated cokehead Ellis early on). Just as Gruber raises his gun to take one last pop at somebody, John loosens the strap of the watch and away Hans goes.

I'd actually thought of the German/Japanese/American clue first. I really should've given that one to start with. The one I did give could have referred to anything!

But seriously though, can you guys believe that Maria has never seen Die Hard?!

I can believe it because I haven't seen it either.
I'm not David Mitchell's Mom. I'd just like to adopt him. Nooo not David Mitchell the comedian. Little David Mitchell from Grange Hill Series Three!

You may as well not have seen any of them if you haven't seen the first one. Heck, you may as well not have seen any other action movie if you haven't seen the first Die Hard!

Anyway, Mrs Mom hasn't seen it either look! :P (or Stand By Me!!!)

Or Stand By Me either!?

And I thought I was bad for having never seen Top Gun!

Seeing as I've had two go's already and it took me an eternity to answer one of them, does somebody else want to have a crack at being a movie ghost in my place?

Well, in fairness, Top Gun is a big old pile of festering pants!

OK. Try this one for size:

Might be!

Oh alright then, I am

Take it away, McSutts! Actually it's harder than it looks, thinking up dead characters for this game.

I think I have seen Die Hard
I just read a synopsis on my DVD rental thing and it definitely sounds familiar...I'm just a bit hopeless at remembering all the details in films if I've only seen them once and it was a long time ago

I'll add it to my rental list anyway just so I can say for sure that I've seen it :P
