Introduce a band or artist

Can you hear it pumping on your stereo?

Introduce a band or artist

Postby Sutti's big hair on Thu Dec 20, 2007 4:02 pm

Hello there! Got a band or singer you can't wait to tell everyone about? Me too!

Today the band I want to draw your attention to is called Say. Say are a band who believe their music should be spread around as much as possible, so they make it freely available and ask you to make a donation if you enjoy it.

Here's a Christmas song of theirs which I really love (just right click and save as to download it):

Say - Make It Snow

Apparently she finally said "Yes, yes, yes" to rehab recently. About time, too!

But back to the music...

I would like everybody to know about Santa Maria ( http://www.slottet.eu/santamaria/ ) and Taken By Trees ( http://www.takenbytrees.com/ )

You can listen to music on both websites and I'd particularly recommend Santa Maria's Cuckoo and Taken By Trees' Lost And Found.

Charlotte Hatherley, ex-Ash guitarist. Last night I was trying to explain to Hughesy why I like her music so much but I ended up rambling incoherently and saying the word 'ace' a lot.

I love her music because it's original. I honestly believe you won't hear any other songs out there written the way hers are. They're so unpredictable (in a good way) and even when I've heard them lots of times before, I can hardly guess where they're going next. I'm always surprised when a chorus shows up!

Plus her guitar riffs are awesome! Have a listen to Very Young on her myspace page for an example of great guitar. :poke:

P.S. It's ace!

I have just found about Your Heart Breaks and I think they are brilliant! It was the kind of thing where I wanted to buy everything they've ever released after hearing just one song.

(Jones, if you don't already know about Your Heart Breaks, you need to! Collaborations with Laura Veirs and Kimya Dawson and just generally great music!)

Elias & the Wizzkids: Swedish, great pop songs, annoyingly slow-loading myspace page.

Skin...not a new artist, but I'd not listened to any of her solo stuff she's done since Skunk Anansie and it's good :D (only a few years out of touch  )

I've added "Cheating on Myself" to my myspace page...I like that one :D
(I like the 80s style keyboardy bit)
