I think he will be a great doctor. But then I'm biased as hes from my home town and went to the same school as my dad and the world's greatest writer, Alan Moore!

Still hes young and quirky and not known, its not an actor playing the role, he is the doctor!

But I think it could prove interesting to write reactions to someone looking so young yet knowing so much and clearly being best qualified to be in control of situations, as long as Matt Smith can pull it off.
I'll wait until I see him in action before I start ranting!

I must admit I'd not seen David Tennant in anything until he played the Doctor and I rather like his Doctor now. I'm glad they went for an unknown but wish it had been someone a little older too. I hope his young years won't mean lots of soppy story lines for the teens. I read in something, or somewhere  , people thought Matt Smith looked too feminine to play the doctor. It could be a rather interesting quirk though.

Is anyone else watching Moses Jones to have a look at the new Doctor?

I'm quite gripped by Moses Jones btw, dark and nasty stufff that it is.

I can see Matthew Smith as the new Doctor though. He does look a little 'alien' to me

I'm not watching Moses Jones as the whole publicity surrounding it has only been about the new Doctor being in it, so I'm guessing there is no plot or character development at all.

The guy sounded Doctor worthy in his interview in DWM (Doctor Who Magazine) so I'm kinda going to wait and see now.

You missed a good show. Very gritty stuff it was. I only saw an article in a TV mag regarding the apearance of the new Doctor or I would have sadly missed it. It certainly had me on the edge of my seat.

I was curious about what he looks like in motion after reading people thought he "looked too feminine play the Doctor".

I don't think he looks feminine, but I can see him cast as an alien. There is something about him quite alienesque I think.

No comments on the Easter Special!

I much prefered it to the christmas special. Something new(ish) with the portal thingy and I also liked when the Doctor pointed out that the "baddies" were only doing what came naturally to survive. That was quite a nice touch considering what man has done to our own environment.

I was impressed with Michelle Ryan too. Not being an East Enders fan I 've only ever seen clips from EastEnders on award shows and previews of the Bionic Woman featuring Miss Ryan, but, for an ex East Ender, I thought she portrayed her character rather well.

The ending was good too with the Doctor seeming harsh with his new potential companion (and a little sad too considering what happened with Donna Noble) then mischeivous too. I wasn't expecting the great escape final scene. The naughty Doctor.

We were waiting for you to get the ball rolling Mrs M

I enjoyed the Easter episode too. All I'd known about Michelle Ryan before was the Bionic Woman/Eastenders stuff so I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out she was quite posh rather than yet another cockernee chimernee sweep-accented companion! :sus:

And at one point she uttered the memorable phrase: "What the blazes was that?" A line not heard on TV since about 1975 (at the latest) I imagine!

Anyway, yes, that episode was silly but great fun. :D

Apart from the silliness at the end with the flying bus it was a good episode. The new eps seemed to be spoilt by silly endings. Giant robots stamping on London, flying buses...what next? People on Mars?

That was my favourite Doctor Who episode for a while! A fun romp with an interesting premise and a strong cast. And for the first time in ages I wasn't incredibly irritated by someone fancying the Doctor. Promising for the other specials!

Ahh yes, knew there was something else I'd meant to post here! I approve of that particular piece of casting, anyway. An elderly companion is just what the Doctor ordered. (haw haw!)
