I don't know about you, but I hate being greeted with an empty avatar space. You can't identify with a member any way, can you?

Me first then! :D

Yeah, I much prefer it when you've got an avatar to gawk at beside a person's username too - even if it's someone you don't necessarily recognise in said pic!

Speaking of which, the bloke in your avatar looks suspiciously early-mid 1990s, so I'll have a wild stab at.... someone from Rage Against The Machine? :?

You got that bit right...

...someone from Rage Against The Machine?

...but not that bit :P

He's a character named Warhammer from a video game called Road Rash II, released in 1992.

Warhammers bio and in-game comments do make him out to be something of a headbanger, so I suppose you were on the right track with Rage Against The Machine

That looks very much to me like Peter Sellers on the telebone in your avatar, but I don't think it is.

You're right - it's not him. It's actually a character called Bunny from Aussie soap of yesteryear The Young Doctors. The bloke who played him was also a regular on the Aussie version of Blankety Blank (or Blankety Blanks as it was known out there), you'll doubtless be fascinated to hear!

The chap in Hughesy's avatar looks like a fantastic actor. Funny how appearances can be deceptive, isn't it?

If I didn't know better, I'd have said Hughesy's avatar was Alan (Fluff) Freeman

Did Bunny have a restaurant or cafe or something? I often remember the characters in The Young Doctors inviting each other for romantic dinner dates at "Bunny's"!

While I'm here, I believe the above avatar is a picture of a young Sean Hughes of stand up comedy fame.

Yes! It was more a sort of pub I think, although the place must've had some sort of food serving license as well, as everyone who was anyone had their wedding receptions there. You'd be lucky to catch a glimpse of the man himself though, as the bloke who played Bunny left after about 70 episodes to take up a regular role as a panellist on the Australian version of Blankety Blank - or "Blankety Blanks" as it's called out there! "Bunny's" the pub/restaurant lived on in name long after its owner scuttled off though, and was very much the Young Doctors' equivalent of Lassiters or Ailsa's diner!

The problem with this thread is avatar images change. It does give you another game within a game of guess what the avatar was when the comment was made though.

What I'm going to do is give a brief description. Hughesy, at time of posting, has a picture of a drunk old man outsde an of-licence holding a garden gnome.

Every time I see that Sean Hughes avatar I do a double take because it looks so much like an old school photo of one of my best friends.
